| Please ask yourself the questions
below to help you choose your miniature dream house.
1) What style of house do I
want? (Colonial, Federal, Victorian, etc.)
2) What size dollhouse am I
looking for? (The dollhouse dimensions are listed next to
each model number.)
3) Should I purchase a
front-opening or rear-opening dollhouse?
4) What exterior wall finish
do I want? (See the wall finish definitions on this page.)
IMPORTANT
-
If
your kit does not indicate an exterior wall finish of Scored, Stucco
or Log you will need to choose one of MP, MM, SP or B as defined at
right.
Definitions
of Exterior Wall Finishes:
MILLED: MP or MM - The
3/8" clapboard profile is milled into the surface of the
exterior walls. This is the easiest and quickest way to
assemble a house with clapboard siding, because it's built-in and
ready to be painted.
Note:
The milled kits come in two versions:
MP (Milled cabinet grade plywood)
MM (Milled 3/8" MDF - Medium
Density Fiberboard)
Where
there is a choice between MP or MM finish, the only difference
between the two kits is the material of the exterior walls,
everything else in the kit is the same.

SMOOTH
PLYWOOD: SP - The exterior walls are smooth (no siding or
textured profile). SP kits include everything you see in the
picture except: Clapboard siding, Edge Trim, Shingles and
sometimes Shutters.
BRICK:
B - The exterior wall(s) are pre-finished. They have
painted wooden brick attached to them, as shown in the specific
photographs.
Note:
The following finishes are available on some kits and are
specified as such.
SCORED:
The exterior walls have a 3/4" spaced novelty siding profile
that is milled into the walls. The outside finish makes these
kits easy to assemble and ready to paint. "Scored"
kits include everything you see in the picture.
STUCCO:
The exterior walls are smooth. "Stucco" kits include
a formulated stucco mix. When you combine the stucco mix with
your choice of paint it creates a textured exterior finish.
LOG:
Log siding and trim for these kits are supplied in lengths and
require cutting to finish as shown in the specific photographs. |
